Erik Jacobs

Erik Jacobs is a choir director at Willard Middle School in Aldie, VA, where he co-directs the Wildcat Chorus program, serving more than 500 singers across seven choirs. Under his leadership, Willard has earned recognition as a Blue Ribbon School of Musical Excellence by the Virginia Music Educators Association. Prior to his current position, Jacobs directed choirs at J. Michael Lunsford Middle School in South Riding, VA, where his ensembles also achieved Blue Ribbon distinction. He began his teaching career in Prince William County, establishing a reputation as a dedicated and innovative choral educator.

Jacobs is a frequent guest conductor and presenter, and an active member of both the Virginia Choral Directors Association (VCDA) and the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA). He has served as a Repertoire & Resources Chair and on the leadership council of VA-ACDA, contributing to the growth of choral music throughout the state.

Before becoming a choral educator, Jacobs was an active touring musician. He released two albums and toured nationally with his own projects, the Po’Boys Brass Band and ROC City Stompers.

Jacobs holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY. In addition to his work as a choral director, he maintains a successful career as an instrumentalist, performing regularly throughout the Washington, D.C., and Baltimore areas.
