Enchant is the final step in SLYC’s non-auditioned choir pathway—a place where 5th and 6th grade singers build the skills they’ll need to thrive in our auditioned performance choirs while continuing to discover the joy of singing.
Rehearsals combine engaging, age-appropriate activities with an increasingly traditional choir experience. Singers dive deeper into music literacy, vocal technique, harmony, listening, and ensemble skills—all while making friends, growing in confidence, and learning what it means to #getSLYC.

Enchant rehearsals are designed for singers who are ready for more. Each Monday blends the energy and creativity of our elementary program with the skills and routines of a traditional choir rehearsal—helping singers become more independent musicians while keeping the joy of making music at the center.

Build healthy vocal technique, explore your developing voice, and learn to sing with confidence and expression.

Summit creates opportunities for experienced singers to take on projects that call for the color, range, and flexibility of a mixed ensemble—from special performances and artistic collaborations to festivals, guest artists, and other experiences designed to push musicians beyond the regular concert cycle.

Summit is designed for experienced Elevate and Fortify singers who are excited to add another musical challenge to their SLYC experience. It moves quickly, asks singers to work independently, and requires an additional commitment—but for singers who love the challenge of advanced mixed-voice music, that's part of what makes Summit special.

Summit is SLYC’s premiere mixed ensemble for singers in grades 9–12. Eligible singers must be active members of Elevate or Fortify and remain in their primary ensemble throughout their participation in Summit.required.

Summit auditions are held internally each spring for eligible Elevate and Fortify singers for the following concert season. Because Summit is an additional SLYC ensemble, singers do not audition for Summit as their initial placement into SLYC.

Yes. Elevate or Fortify remains each singer’s primary SLYC ensemble. Summit is an additional opportunity, and singers must remain active and in good standing in their primary ensemble while participating in Summit.

Summit asks singers to take on an additional weekly rehearsal, performances, and independent musical preparation alongside their primary ensemble responsibilities. Because the ensemble moves quickly and tackles advanced mixed-voice repertoire, singers are expected to arrive prepared and take ownership of their individual part.

Summit tuition is an additional $100 for the concert season. This is separate from tuition for a singer’s primary Elevate or Fortify enrollment.

Summit is a full-season commitment. Because the ensemble builds advanced repertoire and ensemble skills throughout the concert season, singers who accept placement are expected to participate from September through April.
