Lisa Newton

Executive Director

Lisa Newton is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of the South Loudoun Youth Chorale, bringing extensive experience in arts administration, music education, and nonprofit leadership. Originally from Long Island, New York, Lisa has dedicated her career to strengthening arts organizations and creating meaningful opportunities for performers and audiences alike.

With nearly a decade of experience in arts management and consulting, Lisa has worked with organizations including the San Diego Master Chorale, Voce Chamber Singers, and event production firms in Washington, D.C., and New York City. As Artistic Personnel and Production Manager for the San Diego Master Chorale, she led organizational improvements in branding, communications, and patron engagement, helping position the organization for continued growth.

An experienced music educator, Lisa has taught choir, orchestra, and theater in Fairfax County Public Schools and Department of Defense schools in Naples, Italy. She currently teaches music and theater to students in grades 4–12 at Wakefield School in The Plains, Virginia.

Lisa holds a bachelor's degree in Vocal Music Education from James Madison University, a master's degree in Vocal Music Education from Boston University, and a Graduate Certificate in Arts Management from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. An active performer, she sings with Voce Chamber Singers and has previously performed professionally with the San Diego Master Chorale and San Diego Pro Arte Voices.

Outside of her professional work, Lisa enjoys traveling, horseback riding, and spending time outdoors with her husband and two daughters.
